Unlike many of the things on this site, these McIntosh MC-30 amplifiers have been kept completely original. They were slowly powered up with a Variac using tubes that had been tested. All tube sockets and potentiometers were cleaned. The resulting sound is nothing short of magical. It can be characterized as non-fatiguing and lifelike.
While they are presently working, it is not recommended that you keep them original and continue using them. The reason for keeping them original is that most folks want to restore them with parts of their choosing. I'm pricing them $3000/pair as is and $4000/pair (plus parts) restored (using replacement parts of your choosing).
The McIntosh MC-30 amplifier was sold between 1954-1962. It boasts 30 watts per channel (8 ohms) with its distortion being measured at 0.5%. Each amplifier weighs about 30 lbs.
