The Sansui 4000 stereo receiver was produced between 1969-71. It is capable of producing 45 watts per channel (a very conservative rating). It features an Aux input, a tape loop, 2 phono inputs, and an AM/FM stereo tuner. It also includes three separate speaker systems. This one has the grey metal chassis cover rather than the wood case. For what its worth, I prefer the look of this metal cover. The finish is really pretty though subtle.
This receiver works as intended and sounds wonderful. I did a substantial amount of service to this receiver. It's power supply, protector circuit, preamp/tone board, phono preamp board have all had their electrolytic capacitors replaced. Many of the small signal transistors and diodes were also replaced - this has resulted in a very quiet receiver. Especially, the phono section. I only use high quality Nichicon, Solen, and Panasonic capacitors. All bulbs are working - I did not do an LED conversion but can if you so desire. The tuner was not re-capped - it is in good working condition and I find that folks rarely use it. I'm happy to rebuild and align the tuner for an additional charge.
